They are so many misconceptions when it comes to fat. Let's go ahead and debunk that fallacy.

For most of my life, "they" said that fat is bad. Eating fat makes you fat. You should always buy the low-fat versions of food. There is low-fat yogurt, skim milk, 95% lean ground beef, egg whites, baked instead of fried, etc.

Statistics show that ever since "they" started teaching that fat is bad, as the number of low-fat products have increased, the obesity rate here in America have greatly increased, especially for African American women.

Statistics show that ever since "they" started teaching that fat is bad, as the number of low-fat products have increased, the obesity rate here in America have greatly increased, especially for African American women. Many of those products replaced the fat with sugar. They needed sugar to make it taste good after removing the fat. (smile)


So, if we are getting fatter in spite of lowering the fat, the question has to be asked. Does eating fat make you fat? Actually, we have learn that not all fats are the same. There are definitely some fats you should avoid. But because our cell membranes are made up of mostly proteins and fats, we need healthy fats in our diet.
